A unique and tested approach to a common problem
For decades, the issue of moisture in concrete roof decks has seemed to linger. More recently the question of, "When is the deck ready for roofing application" has been thrust to the forefront. The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) recommends a well-adhered vapor retarder be incorporated into roof systems over newly poured structural concrete roof decks to isolate the concrete deck's retained moisture from the roof system components. The question is, which adhesives will work to meet the requirement of "well-adhered" for vapor retarder/barrier attachment? Johns Manville has an innovative solution for this issue.
It's DynaSet 1K
Testing for code compliance is already complete
Any tested adhered roofing assembly that has a rating at or below -232.5 PSF with a based layer of ISO, can be installed over an approved vapor barrier set in DynaSet 1K. This assembly will achieve the uplift rating required to meet the building code.
