Roofing products that met the Energy Star specification could reflect 50% of the sun's rays and reduce the temperature of the roofs by approximately 50˚ F (28˚ C).

Is there an alternative?

Cool-Roofs-CRRC.pngFor years, ENERGY STAR has been the symbol for energy efficiency in roof designs. A great alternative to the Energy Star certification program for roofing products is the CRRC-1 Roof Product Rating Program.

There are many great roofing membranes from Johns Manville that are specifically engineered for high reflectively and meet the CRRC requirements such as White TPO, White PVC, and all modified membranes with Cool Roof Granules (CR G).
